We are committed to strengthening rural America and advancing agriculture through the cooperative system. Our initiatives focus on developing future ag leaders, supporting local communities and promoting safety and stewardship.
Every March since 2011, CHS employees from across the country have worked with farmers and ranchers, community organizations and businesses to fight rural hunger through the annual CHS Harvest for Hunger food, funds and grain drive. Since it began, Harvest for Hunger has raised more than $6 million and 4.5 million pounds of food for local and regional food shelves.
The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program is a dual program between our local cooperative and the CHS Foundation. We look to support local projects that improve ag safety or cultivate ag leaders for life and to strengthen the hometown communities where our employees, owners and customers live and work. We’re proud to support the next generation of agriculture leaders through our CHS scholarship program. Each year, we offer scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing degrees in agricultural fields at accredited colleges or technical schools. Scholarship applications will open around December.
CHS is proud to support our local fire departments. Through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship program, we awarded the Worthing Community Fire Department $7,500 to purchase personal protective gear. CHS would like to thank all local fire departments for keeping our communities safe!
